Practice Areas and Legal Services
Residential Real Estate
When selling, buying, or refinancing a property, real estate lawyers are responsible for managing the monetary and bureaucratic parts of the transaction. While your realtor and mortgage broker handle the initial part of the process such as contract negotiations and financing, it is up to the lawyers to get the deal to close.
For all transactions, your lawyer will review your contract and land documents, prepare and execute the required paperwork; manage the registration and discharge process; safely handle the fund transfers; address any legal issues or concerns; facilitate closing day & possession; and most importantly, educate you on your responsibilities as the seller or owner. For private transactions, our team can guide you through the process from beginning to end, including the drafting of the offer contract and assist in negotiations.
Wills & Estates
Estate Planning is an ongoing process focused on growing, preserving, and protecting your wealth during and after your lifetime. Our legal team will guide you through the process of organizing your estate and will provide you with a document package which can include a Will, Personal Directive, and an Enduring Power of Attorney. These documents will allow you to choose how you wish to allocate your assets, name the trusted persons who to look after to your health and wealth should you become mentally or physically incapacitated, express your wishes, and provide instructions for after your passing.
Although it can be tough to think about, by planning your estate you can protect your assets and ensure that all your loved ones including children, spouses, and even pets, are taken care of.
Mediation
Mediation is an alternate legal method of conflict resolution. If you and another party are at a personal or professional impasse, whether it is another individual, an organization, or even your employer, our trained professionals can assist by facilitating the discussion and help you come to a resolution.
Unlike arbitration, the final outcome of the mediation session is up to the agreement of the parties rather than the mediator making the final decision. An impartial mediator will lead the discussion and will help you discover solutions to disputes and disagreements in areas such as Family, Businesses, or Employment.
Notary Public
If you require the services of a Notary public, Commissioner of Oaths, a Witness, or you need to obtain Independent Legal Advice, our team is here to assist. This includes, but is not limited to: notarized true copies of documents, photographs, and identification; sworn affidavits and statutory declarations, and travel & dower consent forms.
Our team will maintain a record on file and provide you with copies for your records. If you are unsure about what is required, feel free to reach out and one of our team members will gladly advise you.
